About the Amersfoort Jazzfestival
The Rabobank Amersfoort International Jazz Festival is more than 30 years old and is one of the most prominent outdoor jazzfestival in the Netherlands. In three days time more than 100.000 visitors attend the free festival. There are 7 stages and on friday more that 40 clubs concerts. Amersfoort International Jazz festival hosted international guests like Curtis Fuller (2005), Candy Dulfer (2006), Housten Person (2007), Gino Vannelli (2008), Ronnie Cuber (2009) and Oleta Adams (2010). This year jazzicoon Hans Dulfer is artist in residence.
About JazzNL 'Gateway to Dutch Jazz'
From 12-15th of May 2011 the city Amersfoort in the Netherlands will organise a big international music conference en showcase festival for international jazz. The event will host several international delegations who will participate in an intensive four day program with seminars, showcases, blend concerts, regular audience performances en an improvisational clash.
We will host foreign delegations from Thailand, India, Spain, Germany, Canada, Taiwan, Kosovo, Norway and Australia. The aim of the event is to connect foreign international jazz networks and music to the Dutch jazz scene. Foreign organization, musicians and officials who want to join the JazzNL event are more than welcome. On the 13th of May there is a the big JazzNL convention and showcase program for professionals. The Amersfoort Jazzfestival in short
The Rabobank Amersfoort International Jazzfestival consists of various parts. On Friday May 13 there is the local pubtour. Over 20 bars and restaurants have invited various jazzartists to perform at their venue. On this evening (which is roughly between 6:00 PM till the early morning) jazz can be enjoyed in all its forms and everybody will find music to their taste. For the program click here...

On Saturday May 14 the festival really bursts out with concerts on the three outdoor venues of the Rabobank Amersfoort Jazzfestival. The best artists of both the national and the international jazzscene come to Amersfoort to perform on the squares of Amersfoort. Musci can also be enjoyed in indoor venues such as Theatre de Lieve Vrouw and De Observant. The complete program can be found here...
Sunday May 15 is the last day of the festival but certainly not the least. It's the perfect day to bring your children to the concert in the Outdoor Theatre (11:00 AM), go to the Gospel service in the St. Franciscus-Xaverius Church (10:30 AM), have a Thai lunch at De Observant (12:00 AM) or sit on one of the terraces and enjoy the music and, hopefully, the weather.
